The Research and Development Technical Department are active participants in fulfilling Ensign’s commitment to supplying quality products.  R&D Technical have developed a wide range of products including therapeutic, skin care, oral care and hair care.  We have also developed surface coatings, automotive, household and food products.  We specialise in both aerosol and non-aerosol forms of application and are continually working on new concepts and innovative products.  R&D Technical are equipped with the latest technology and employ a range of scientists with specialisations in chemistry, microbiology, validation, stability, and regulatory affairs.

From concept to product realisation, R&D Technical liaises with the customer to develop products that meet their requirements.  In addition to developing the above mentioned product range, Ensign’s Technical  team are specialists in sunscreen development.  The R&D Technical department are continually developing new formulations to stay ahead of changing market and regulatory requirements.  Alternatively, customers may wish to choose from Ensign’s extensive range of existing and proven formulations.

As part of the product evaluation process, we can also coordinate a range of additional services such as sunscreen SPF testing and UVA / UVB absorbance tests to support Broad Spectrum claims, preservative challenge tests, microbiological and RIPT testing, dermatological studies, efficacy studies and toxicological reports, comparison studies, and skin moisturising and elasticity tests.
