Ensign Laboratories is a leader in development, manufacture and packing of a variety of formulated products. We aim at the highest level of uniformity and conformance in order to satisfy our customer's agreed expectation of quality in all aspects of our business. Ensign has developed validated quality systems to ensure we deliver products and services of exceptional quality.

To achieve the level of quality Ensign and our customers expect, we will:

  •  Develop and review techniques and practices that promote quality above all else, and ensure these concepts are part of the organisations culture
  • Secure and maintain certification of our quality system to the National and International Standards for Quality Systems and comply with the relevant codes of Good Manufacturing Practice. 
  • Manufacture products to a specified National and International Product Standard, when required by our customer. 
  • Encourage our suppliers to seek certification of their quality systems to a National and International Standard. 
  • Train our people, let each contribute and take pride in their workmanship. 
  • Strive for continuous improvement in process and product quality.

Auditing
Prevention of deviations in quality is paramount to our policy at Ensign. The Q.A department has implemented an internal auditing system that routinely monitors each area of our business, therefore eliminating potential incidents. The systematic review of our departments identifies and rectifies areas of concern and ensures each aspect of the business complies with ‘Good Manufacturing Practices’. Furthermore Ensign is regularly audited by our customers and governing bodies. 

Quality Culture
Quality Performance is a commitment to excellence by each employee of Ensign. We achieve this goal through teamwork and a process of continuous improvement. We are dedicated to being the leader in providing quality products and services, which meet or exceed your expectations.

Measurements
Ensign has established quality measurement systems to measure progress in continuous quality improvement. Some of the tools used to monitor progress include external and internal audits, Management review, customer complaints and statistical tools.

Specifications
To ensure all business personnel know and understand your requirements, we identify and document specifications. Proquis (Professional Quality Information Service) maintains an official Specification System that includes a sales specification for every product we sell.

 

Test Methods
Product parameters are measured using official, validated test methods or industry standard methods. The test methods are reviewed and updated as necessary or every two years. We routinely conduct reviews on data generated from these testing operations for trend analysis. The test methods we use are defined on our Product Specifications.

Corrective Action Management Process
Our ultimate goal is 100 percent customer satisfaction. However, if we fail to completely meet your needs, or if there are any complaints. Ensign has a Corrective / Preventive Action System in place. Some key steps are in this process are:

  • Analysis of the cause(s) of unacceptable product or service
  • Determination of the action needed to prevent recurrence, and follow-through 
  • Documentation of corrective action taken and resulting changes to system procedures
  • Validation of the effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions 
  • Timely communication back to the customer

Ensign’s Quality Assurance definitely strives for designing out and preventing rather than just reacting to Quality problems.
