Ensign employs around 500 people and has a strong culture of troubleshooting and problem-solving. Teams of cross-functional experts work together and share knowledge to quickly resolve issues. This collaboration of minds also gives us the flexibility to produce and scale products to almost any requirement.
Our team of chemists plays a vital role working in R&D and Quality Control, as well as advising on improvements in production processes. Many of our staff are technical specialists, including traditional engineers, electrical engineers and mechatronics engineers who work on designing and programming our inhouse automation and robotics.

- Choosing renewable electricity by purchasing GreenPower certificates through our energy provider to offset our greenhouse gas emissions.
- Waste management initiatives to reduce waste-to-landfill and improve onsite recycling.
- Energy efficiency projects to improve the efficiency of our most energy-intensive equipment such as boilers, compressors and HVAC systems.
- Water efficiency projects to reduce water usage by improving the efficiency of water-intensive processes such as water purification, cooling and cleaning.
- Supporting our customers to meet their Australian Packaging Covenant commitments by increasing recycled content in packaging and eliminating single-use plastics.
History
We’ve grown from humble beginnings to a trusted global name in manufacturing. The company’s first-ever product was an aerosol bug spray sold on consignment at petrol stations in Victoria. This early entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to scientific curiosity still drives us today.
